The Satellite Beach Police Department's Emergency Response Team is comprised of 10 sworn officers who receive extensive advanced training in high risk and critical incident situations.
Each team member is required to demonstrate proficiency with a number of specialized weapons. Team members are carefully selected based on their overall judgement, tactical ability, and training record. Each potential member is carefully evaluated prior to being selected as a permanent E.R.T member.
These officers train together continuously to ensure the highest level of proficientcy in the event a serious incident evolves beyond what the normal patrol officer is trained or equipped to safely resolve.
